Stylin' and Profilin'

Brady will never be without something to wear thanks to his cousins Ryan and Logan.

They loaded us up with buckets of clothing for every stage from 0-18 months! We've got sleepers and onsies, and overalls and jeans, sweatpants and t-shirts and anything you can imagine!

They also gave us socks and shoes and bibs, changing pads, hats and accessories - like itty bitty suspenders!

Thanks Aunt Jenn!

One of Jeremiah's buddies at the police station who is certified in installing car seats installed our bases in our cars for us this week. He said the recommeded life for a car seat and a base is six years which means ours that we got handed down to us are reaching the limit. He said they are safe to use for now, but we might consider getting new ones in the future. He also said he may be able to pull some strings and get us new bases and a new car seat! He's checking into that which would be awesome!

Let's go racing boys!!!
We found Dale Earnhart Jr. and Elliott Sadler sleepers at Walmart!

Keeping puppies out!

We created a dog gate with two shower rods and some material to keep the dogs out of the living room when we are playing with Brady on the floor or when we want to keep them off the carpet we're having installed in there in a couple of weeks.

Birthing classes start this week

Birthing classes start Monday night as long as we don't get snowed in our house! The forecasters are predicting 4 to 10 inches of snow Monday, just in time for Spring. Our classes will be at the hospital where we'll deliver and where Heather's doctor is. It's the same place she had her surgery. We get to tour the birthing center as part of the class. One of Heather's nurses snuck her in while she was recovering after the surgery and it's really cool. The rooms are like luxury hotel suites complete with big TVs, stereo systems, big beds that fold into the wall, fold out couches for the fathers and a jaccuzi tub in every room!

Getting Ready

Jeremiah put Brady's cradle together this week. It's in our room and ready for the little man to come home! We are picking up the crib from my sister Jenn's house this week along with a bunch of other goodies like clothes, changing pads and a pump for Heather!

Getting bigger every day

Brady's growing bigger every day and so is mommy. We have a doctor's appointment Monday afternoon so we'll get to see how big he really is getting. I think he may have changed positions. My belly looks more wide than tall recently. The other night a big bulge kept moving up and down to the left of my belly button. It's pretty fun to feel him move around and it's even more fun to watch it. It keeps me entertained during staff meetings at work! When he's born I'm going to miss the moving around. Right now it gives us piece of mind too - when he's moving we know he's doing good in there!

Brady survived first Kansas storm

Well, Brady made it through hail, wind, rain and a nearby tornado today! We woke up to quarter-size hail pounding on the roof and windows. Then a few minutes later a report came on the TV about a tornado just a mile-and-a-half down the road by our Walmart.

Later this afternoon more storms came through and did some damage to a hotel out by the race track and the Lowe's down the street from us. Luckily we didn't get any damage at our house. All of our trees are still standing and we haven't noticed any hail damage on our cars! Thank goodness!

10 weeks to go

We're down to the final 10 weeks! We can hardly believe it. The past 30 weeks have flown by! We're slowly getting ready to welcome Brady home. Jeremiah primed the walls in the nursery this weekend. He is planning on painting in a few more weeks when he's got another three-day weekend. We've converted our old CD/DVD/VHS movie shelves to two cabinets with locks on them...much more baby friendly - and nontipping. We replaced the screen on our sliding door this weekend too. Amber had ripped a couple holes in the bottom last fall when some locusts got stuck between the screen and the door. We've still got a lot of work to do to get the house ready, but luckily we've still got a little bit of time left.
