Take me out to the ball game ...

We took the kids to the Royals game Sunday for the final home game of the season. It was really nice out - 80 degrees and mostly sunny. It was actually kind of hot in the sun so we kept Brady full of lemonade and a giant popsicle. He was totally excited about the popsicle ... his favorite treat. At least three times a week when he gets up I ask if he's hungry and he says, "Mommy I want a popsicle." The one at the ballpark was huge!

Ha ha - this was today. I got home from work and put Mackenzie in her high chair so I could get dinner started. I looked over and she had somehow grabbed ahold of a dining room chair that had been a few inches in front of her. She was yanking it towards her and trying to eat it!! What a goof. Later I moved her high chair outside since I was grilling and Brady was playing in the yard with the dogs and I stuck my finger in her mouth and found a tooth! One of the middle ones on the bottom has poked through. She's been a little fussy the past few days and her nose has been a little stuffy, so the little tooth is probably the culprit. It's her first one!

On the way into the game. Brady used to get scared to be on Jeremiah's shoulders, but now he loves it!

Waiting for our hot dogs. We got a four-pack ticket package with four seats, four hot dogs, four sodas and peanuts for $44. When we got to our seats we sent Jeremiah up for the food. He waited in line forever and when he got to the front they said they only had Diet Pepsi and Mountain Dew so he had to go to another line and wait all over again. He missed the first three innings. The hot dogs were good though.

Sissy is in a big girl car seat now in the car because she is way too heavy to use the baby seat all the time. We threw it in the back of the van though and took it with us so we would have a way to keep her shaded from the sun. Since the baby seat has a little hood thing it worked out perfectly. My arm is about to fall off today though from lugging her around in the seat!

Me and my baby! Can you believe she is 7 months old??? With the ticket package we got we got a free copy of the game day magazine. We had to go to guest services to get it and while we were there we found out the stadium prints up official fan certificates for kids first visits to the ballpark. We have one for Brady and one for Mackenzie with the date on it. They are pretty neat.

Lovin' the popsicle.

All in all it was a really good day. We all took naps when we got home - all the fresh air wore us out. Oh, and if you're wondering the Royals lost - as expected. We had fun anyway!

Haircut time ... experimental!

I gave Brady a haircut tonight!
I experimented with the old dog trimmer which has the blade guard things like regular people trimmers. Sometimes when we take him to get a haircut at wherever they do a "Number 4" all around. I looked and one of the guards was a number 4. I went for it and I think it turned out quite nicely. I'm going to look at a haircut kit we have at work and see if it has numbers six and seven in it too and get it so next time I can make it a little longer on the top...or try to anyway!
I don't think I'll ever try to cut Mackenzie's hair, but cutting Brady's is a breeze. No more $15 haircuts for him anymore!!!! I'll spend $10 on the kit and it will pay for itself the first time!

It's been a while ...

I haven't uploaded photos in forever! Some of these are from the beginning of August! So I'm only a month behind ... they were worth the wait!
Brady built a castle around him, Daddy and Sissy the other night. He loves building things with blocks, pillows, cushions, whatever he can find. I think he gets that from me. I like to create things.
While out in the garage last night Brady found Jeremiah's hard hat from when he went down to Coffeeville last year to help after the flood.
We went to Stacey's Monday for a Labor Day BBQ after I got off work. Melea is going to outgrow all her cousins! She is 11 months younger than Brady, but they are practically the same size! She weighs the same as him and is only about a half inch shorter! They had fun playing together.
Brady also had fun playing hide and seek with Nana. He likes to hide under blankets and pretend Monster Bugs (secadas) are coming to get him! He squeezed in between Nana and Papa for a picture!
Melea is just too cute.
This was our salsa in the making a few weeks ago. We made it when Robin was in town for a long weekend. It is delicious!
After it cooked down for a while.
And finally all jarred up and ready to go!
Memaw and Brady.
Sissy in a high chair at lunch one day with Memaw.
We got some tow behind carts for our bikes so we can take the kids for bike rides!
Sissy got a new big girl car seat because she was getting way too heavy to lug around in the baby one!
We went for a bike ride the first weekend of August and before we even left the house one of my tired popped. We had to stop on the way and get a new tube for it. Brady helped Daddy fix it while I fed Sissy a bottle.
Ready to ride!
We stopped halfway through our ride at a little playground area. Brady had fun playing on the slides.
