Picture link

The blog site is too slow at uploading and hasn't been cooperating to allow me to get pictures of Eli up here. So here's a link that will take you to pictures of him and the rest of the family! You can click on the pictures to make them bigger once you're on the site.

Eli's doing great. We came home today. He was born on Wednesday, Jan. 20 at 4:58 a.m. I had been having contractions since Monday morning around 5 a.m. They were pretty mild Monday and Tuesday during the day. Tuesday afternoon they stopped for a couple hours after a nap. That night after dinner they started getting pretty bad. I decided to sleep on the couch since I was up every 20 minutes to go to the bathroom anyway. By 2 a.m. I had not slept and thought I was going to die because the contractions had gotten really bad. I called the doctor who said to go to the hospital. I then called mom and dad to come over to stay with the kids and then woke up Jeremiah. We waited for mom and dad to get here and then left for the hospital which is a half hour away. We finally got there around 3:30 a.m. I thought I was going to die. They checked and I was dilated to three centimeters...on Monday morning I had gone to the hospital because the contractions were pretty steady at 7 minutes apart even though they weren't horribly painful...I was dilated at 1 then so they sent me home to rest. Anyway, on Wednesday morning when we were back at the hosptial and I was at a three they decided it was time to get Eli out. They gave me a shot to stop the contractions - thank goodness! - then started prepping me for surgery. Dr. Bavishi got there and they took me back to get anesthesia. At 4:58 Elijah was out and I was relieved to hear him screaming! He got an 8.5 out of 10 on his Apgar score which is really good.

We spent three days in the hospital being waited on by the nurses...they were all really good this time. But it is back to the real world now. Brady and Mackenzie are thrilled to have their little brother. They love looking at him and playing with his little feet and clothes.

Well, it's just about feeding time again ... every three hours ... so Eli calls! After he eats we're going to put him in his crib. He's sharing a room with Brady so we'll see how that goes! Wish us luck!!!
