Good news, bad news

It's been one hectic week. Sunday night I had to work for a few hours because we were open late for friends and family night. After work I had to get Brady from Jenn's house so we got home around 10:30. When we walked in I noticed nasty dog puke all over the kitchen and dining room where the dogs were confined since Jeremiah was also working that night. I put Brady to bed, let the dogs outside and cleaned up the mess. They had gotten into the garbage where there was some old salad and a bunch of chocolate chips from Christmas time I had not used to make cookies as planned. I figured the dogs would need some time to run around so I left them out while Jeremiah and I watched a movie when he got home. Around 2 a.m. we went to let them in before we went to bed. Holly and Amber came right in. Mufasa was no where to be found. We thought he had gotten out somehow again since he did run away for two months in '05. We got some flashlights and scoured the yard. After a few minutes we found him sitting under the deck looking spaced out. He wouldn't really respond to us, just kind of starred off into space. Long story short, we ended up having to take him in to the emergency vet that night and have him put to sleep. He was really dehydrated and had not been really healthy since he came back from his two-month voyage. He was 8 or 10 years old. Jeremiah found him in college and had pampered him ever since. He had a good life - he even flew in a plane to New Jersey once. Luckily Holly and Amber were able to get through the chocolate chips and rotten food with just a case of really nasty gas. Jake must not have taken part in the garbage eating because he seems ok too.

Tuesday we got some much needed good news. Stacey had Melea (pronounced ma-leah) at 3:16 p.m. She was 7 pounds 11 ounces and 20 inches long. She's really cute. Stacey made history too as the first Kronmueller woman in a long long time to have a baby naturally. She had to push for two hours, but she did it. Mom had three c-sections with us, Jenn had two with the boys and I had one with Brady. Mom says it's because Stacey is taller than the rest of us which means she had gravity on her side!! Ha ha. Melea went home Thursday, healthy and happy!

In other bad news, today we found out my aunt has breast cancer. Keep her in your prayers. They're doing more tests to make sure it hasn't spread and she's having a procedure on April 11 to try to remove it. I found out today also that one my high school friends' father has an extremely rare form of blood cancer.

In other good news, I found out this week that my friend Sara from high school is pregnant again with her second child. She's due in September. Her little girl is about a month older than Brady.

Other than all of that it's been a pretty normal week. Brady's finally gotten rid of his runny nose that plagued him for about a week. We're still working on remodeling our bathroom. All that's left now is to finish the trim, hang the towel bars and add a vent. We'll finish it someday. At least we don't have drywall dust everywhere anymore.

Well, I have to go to bed. I've got to be at work at 6 a.m. Yuck. At least that means I get to get off work at 3 p.m. Hopefully we won't blow away tonight - there are some pretty ugly storms in western Kansas making their way towards us. I've got some pictures of Melea on the camera. I'll try to get them on here this weekend. I'm off Sunday so hopefully I'll have a few minutes to do that. I'm going to go get my hair done hopefully...it's my birthday present - which was also this week. I keep forgetting...it's the old age, ha! Two years till 30. Ugh.

New stuff

Here are some new Brady pics. This morning we had a false alarm with Stacey. I got up early to head out to training at my old store for my new job. On my way out I checked to make sure I had my cell phone with me and noticed I had a missed call. It was from Stacey at 5:37 a.m. Of course, her due date was last Saturday and Meliah is still not here. Naturally I went into panic mode thinking Stacey was at the hospital having her then. I called her, but she didn't answer. I called Mom and Dad and they had not heard from her. Finally about an hour later I got ahold of Jeff and said, "where is Stacey?!!!" He laughed and said, "She's at work. I told her she shoud have left you a message cause you were going to freak out when you saw a missed call from her." Apprently Stacey was trying to use her cell phone as a flashlight this morning and she accidently called me in the process. So still no action on the Meliah front.
Brady's got a cold. We're going to the doctor in the morning because he's really congested and we can tell he just doesn't feel good at all. We're just afraid it's going to get down in his chest because it's in his throat now...the nose sucker isn't really getting any of it out.
Once Jeff said Dad is Dr. Spock. Then Dad did the Vulcan hand thing. It freaked Jeff out. Last night, Brady showed us he is definately Dad's grandson - he too can do the Dr. Spock hands.

Brady got to play in the yard...well, his exersaucer in the yard...last week. It was nice and sunny and 75 degrees. He and Jeremiah hung out and played fetch with the doggies.

I love my Johnny Jump Up and blowing zerberts!!!

Teething...anything tastes good.

Phase one: pop off tiles.
Phase two: decide popping off a few tiles just isn't enough.

Phase three: Who needs drywall?

Phase four: When all else fails, get the hammer.

We're tearing apart our bathroom...remodeling the tub area and removing all the 1960's tile from the room. It's pretty nice now...J just finished priming the walls and we have the tub surround in. Now we just need to paint it and clean it up!!

Brady decided tonight that it would be fun to stand without holding on to anything. Then he thought it would be even more fun to clap while standing!

Clapping is fun. Last night we were out to dinner at this restaurant by the house where they have a mechanical bull. After people would fall off of it everyone who was with them would clap. One time no one around us was clapping, but the whole other side of the restaurant started clapping for this one lady on the bull. We looked over at Brady and he just started clapping right along with them! It was really funny. There's no way he could have seen anyone clapping, he just heard them and decided to join in the fun! He's so smart!

Updates

Well, Jake just stunk it up in his litter box in here so I'm going to have to make this quick and come back later. Brady's taking a nap for now so I have a quick minute. He's still got four teeth, but we think some others might be on their way. He's still not walking without holding on to anything, but that too is not far away. He learned how to climb stairs at mom and dad's house so he spends his time there serving as the local stair master, giving mom a pretty good workout.

Work is going well. The new job has a lot to learn, but I'm learning every day. So far so good. I definately like not being screamed at by angry customers day in and day out. That's a nice change.

Jeremiah's been busy at work doing training and off-duty security. He's been working on our bathroom too. He and dad worked hard installing one of those new tub surrounds for the shower. Then Jeremiah pretty much ripped the rest of the bathroom apart and put up new walls. We're in the process of putting it all back together now. It's going to be much nicer than it was - remember, before it had tile on the walls all throughout the room, now all the ugly tile is gone. Our neighbor said it's been there since the 60's. It was time for an update.

Ok, I can't stand the smell. I have to go. I'll update more later.

Cousins

In Florida, Brady got to meet his cousin, Alex and Uncle Rocky.

Alex was obsessed with Brady's pacifier!

Brady was pretty tired and jet-lagged so he was kind of fussy part of the time, but he and Alex got to play together and be pals a little too! Grandma Robin got them cool toys - little animal guys that stack together!

Alex showed Brady how to push a truck of blocks around and dump it on the floor. Brady thought it was great. We're going to have to get him some giant legos.

quick updates

We've been back from vacation for a week, but it's been a really hectic week. I got a new job...I'm no longer the Brand Central (home appliance & electronics manager), but now I am the Operations Manager. It's basically one step below store manager. I'm in charge of human resources, the cashiers, receiving & merchandise pick-up, the cleaning crew, store finances, in-store marketing and facilities management. It will be fun I think. I have to get to bed because I have to be at work early. Next week we have inventory so I've got a lot of work to do to get ready. I have a ton of vacation pictures to put on here some time when I have a little more time. I'm supposed to be off Saturday. We'll see. So here's a couple of Brady that are too cute to believe!
Brady in the portacrib at the hotel the night before we flew to Florida. It was quite a scary contraption, but it got the job done!

Chillin poolside at greatgrandma's house!

Biker baby.
I'm lovin the sunglasses. Those are his "Cars" movie sunglasses. His cousins would love them! Cars is their favorite movie.
